Youngstown Area Goodwill has reopened its nine stores
With increased safety measures in effect, Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries has reopened its nine retail stores.
To allow extra time to clean and sanitize, temporary store hours will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., on Sunday.
Additionally, Goodwill’s Salem location has reopened as a store dedicated to carrying a great selection of books, antiques, furniture and select vintage clothing and jewelry pieces.
Keeping the community’s well-being has at the forefront of all decisions, Youngstown Goodwill has implemented additional precautions and enhanced sanitation procedures. Some of these measures include:
-Frequently cleaning the store throughout the day
-Limiting the amount of customers in the store at a time
-Social distancing between both staff and customers
-Storing donations for at least 72 hours before processing
-Installing plexiglass at all registers
-Using decals designating 6 feet of distance in lines
-Requiring employees to wear facemasks
-Temporarily closing dressing rooms
-Temporarily closing restrooms
Goodwill depends on the revenue from its stores to support its mission and provide job training programs and services to the community. While closed, Goodwill has continued its service through virtual training opportunities. On top of reopening retail, Goodwill has resumed in-person training programs and services at its Belmont facility by appointment only.
